Apple Pie Popcorn



Perfect Popcorn

  • 1/2 cup popcorn kernels

  • 1/2 tsp fine salt

  • 3 Tbsp canola oil

  • 3 Tbsp butter

Apple Pie Seasoning

  • ¾ tsp ground nutmeg 

  • 2 tsp cinnamon

  • ½ tsp allspice

  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

  • ¼ cup confectioner's sugar

  • 1 large apple, shredded

  • 3 Tbsp butter


  1. Add popcorn kernels, salt, and oil to a 4-quart (or larger) pan. Cover with a not-too-tight lid so steam can escape.

  2. Place pan over a high flame and wait for kernels to begin popping.

  3. When kernels begin to pop, move pan back and forth just above flame to avoid burning. Continue shaking pan until popping almost stops.

  4. Turn off heat, stir in any salt that accumulated on the side of the pan, and transfer popcorn to a bowl.

  5. Add 3 Tbsp butter to the warmed pan to melt, then drizzle over the popcorn. Toss to mix.

  6. From Apple Pie Seasoning ingredients, add confectioner's sugar and spices to the popcorn. Toss again to mix.

  7. Using the same warmed pan, add the shredded apple. Cook on medium heat until it begins to dry out and brown. Turn off heat, add browned apple to popcorn, and toss again to mix.

  8. Return to warmed pan. Add 3 Tbsp butter to pan and allow to melt. Stir in vanilla.

  9. Pour butter/vanilla mixture over popcorn. Toss once more to mix, serve and enjoy!
